Video poker is another game of skill that has a small house edge if you make the correct playing decisions and select the machine with the best payout.
Some video poker games offer over 100 percent payback to players utilizing perfect mathematical strategy. Many machines have a small house of less than ½ of a percent.
The house edge is determined by the pay table and a player can determine the payback of the machine by reading the schedule.
The object of video poker is to attain the highest ranked poker hand. The payoff for each hand is displayed on the video poker machine face.
Learn to Play Video Poker
Most video poker machines use a one deck shoe and the deck is re-shuffled after every hand.
Once the cards are dealt, you may choose to keep any of the cards by either clicking Hold, found directly below the card, or on the card. Once you have selected the cards you want to keep, click Deal and the remaining cards will be exchanged for new cards.
After this second deal, hands are compared and a winning hand is paid out based on the rank of the resulting poker hand. It's that easy!
A winning hand pays out according to the number of coins wagered and their value. Make sure to checkout the payout schedule of a video poker machine before placing a bet. The payout schedule is usually printed on the top portion of the machine.
